The Types of Contact Lenses You Can Choose From
With a range of contact lenses to choose from, our opticians will help to find the right ones for you. Here are the eight different contact lenses that we have available:
Daily-Wear Soft Lenses
One of the most popular lenses that we offer. They’re extremely comfortable and practical, with no need to be cleaned. Daily-Wear Soft Lenses can be worn for up to 18 hours and simply thrown away at the end of the day.
Extended-Wear Lenses
Perfect for people who want to minimise changing their contact lenses. These lenses tend to be worn for up to six days, although it is possible to wear them for as long as 30 days in some cases. There is also no need for Extended-Wear Lenses to be removed before going to sleep.
Rigid Gas-Permeable
Otherwise referred to as hard lenses, Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) lenses are straightforward to use with a relatively long life when cared for correctly.
Monovision Contacts
Monovision contact lenses are used to support Presbyopia or long-sightedness, being particularly beneficial where there is one dominant eye. These lenses alternate so that one lens addresses far vision whilst the other corrects near vision.
Bi-Focal Contact Lenses
Similarly to Monovision, Bi-focal contact lenses are also used to treat Presbyopia, although the difference is that there are two different prescriptions within one lens.
Colour Variation Contacts
These are professional contact lenses prescribed to alter the appearance of your iris colour. You can choose from a large variety of colours from the more conventional blues and browns to unique patterned designs.
Toric Lenses
Toric contact lenses are expertly fitted and have the ability to correct Astigmatism. These lenses incorporate a special design that rotates with the cornea to provide corrected vision.
Spherical Lenses
Spherical contact lenses are simple rounds lenses that are used to treat common problems like Myopia and Hyperopia.
